ok folks. i've seen all kinds of cool pictures and videos taken through rifle and spotting scopes. i tried it through my rifles scope with my Olympus camera, but only got black. do i need a special camera? how do i do it!?

There are a few tricks to getting this done. A long eye relief spotting scope is what I use. It is a USO spotter, I then mount my handi cam behind it about 3" and it works great.
Some spotting scopes have camera adaptors ie Bushnel space master, I have not used 1 but understand that a camera then can be direct mounted to the spotting scope.

thanks for the info. i'd like to be able to take pics through my Elite 3200 3-9x40mm scope. any suggestions?

Use the rear screen of the Camera to see what you are doing, try zooming the camera in and out to find the sweet spot. It takes a bit of mucking about to get it right.

I have taken a few though mine with both Point and Shoot and DSLR.
