Anyone have any loads for VV N350 for 12 gauge loads (slug or shot)? It looks like burn rate its comparable to a blue dot, but obviously maybe there are other factors that makes it not a good choice.

It is slightly faster than Blue Dot, but twice the cost....

Bulk density is also an issue when loading shotshells, so speed is not the only issue. It looks like you could use it in a pinch, but why??

shouldn't be used no data for it in any shotshell
Fixed your post.

It can totally be used as a shotgun powder but with no load data it's guess and pray. Saying it can't be used would mean something else. If it's burn rate was too slow to burn under shotgun pressures (before the barrel bursts) then one could say it can't be used.

I've been reading over on the cast boolits forums a guy using Vv N133 which is a fast-ish extruded rifle powder in a Maverick 88 pump with Mossberg slug barrel. He's hitting 18k-28k psi with loads of 120-140gr and is having no issues with hard extracts or burst barrels. Something many reloaders say is impossible but that's another matter.

So it can be used but probably isn't the wisest decision unless someone is willing to gamble with their gun/hand/eye/life.

*Edit*
I don't mean any offence and don't want to start an argument. It's just a pet peeve of mine when someone says something "can't" be done without an explanation. In this case it "can" be done but is dangerous and not recommended. If someone tells me I "shouldn't" do something based on their experience and give a brief explanation I am perfectly fine with learning from the mistakes of others. If someone says I "can't" do something I expect an explanation as to why it's physically impossible. There are so many times reloaders say something "can't" be done without any basis or explanation because they read it somewhere or heard it from someone more experienced then them. Some examples are that 7.62 NATO ammo cannot be used in a .308 chamber or that tumbling loaded ammo will result in explosions. Both of these seem to have been accepted as "facts" for a long time but have since been proven false.

Powders are available online from a number of dealers. get one to ship you some powder. the Hazmet fee is fixed, so you should take advantage and order 5 or more pounds of what ever powders you want to play with. i use unique and Blue Dot in both pistols (medium to hot loads) and shotgun (slugs).
