Vihtavuori powder?

Does anybody have a line on a retailer in Western Canada that sells this stuff? I'm looking for V550, in particular. Seems to be well-suited to the short mags.

Wholesale Sports advertises it, but it seems more expensive than most other powders.

2 Guys here in B.C. have it listed. One is Dave Friesen [bcredneck.com] in the lower mainland, and the other is Paul Reibin at Rangesports unlimited in Kamloops. Paul's phone # is [250]372-7030. BTW, These are great powders. I have and use N133, N135, N140, N150, N160, N165, N170, N540, N550 & N560. Clean burning and fine grained. Good velocities without pressure surprises. Just got some 540 and 560 from Raynershine in Sask. Pricey stuff but consistant and good velocity.

I've only just started using the Vihtavuori 500-series powders. Truly outstanding stuff. There's so much nitroglycerine in them, that the individual granules almost feel oily, but the meter extremely well and they burn clean. The results in my .30-06 have included the top velocities ever recorded in that rifle coupled with some of the best accuracy.

I've found N550 to be similar in burning rate to IMR 4350 and N560 to be similar to H4831, but with much higher energy.

They bring the powder in for some of the businesses in Mb. VV is a little more but then again you are looking at a very good product. Doug and Fran get shipments of supplies from Statesside on a regular basis. Give them a call and if they do not have it they usually have it in within a month. They are located in Lancer Sk. Epps used to carry Vit in Ontario but I had to order it out of Sask. shipping is a #####, $70 for 8lbs.

wow that is high for shipping, from Hingginsons to NS it cost 40.00 for 8lb including the 15.00 dangerous goods fee......but it's also pretty hard to get these powder....

I have used VV 560 in my TRG 42 in .338 Lapua and didn't notice any improvement in any group size while doing load developement so I don't see the point in paying premium prices for powder that isn't any better than
H 1000.

Although I will be trying N 150 in my .308 to see if there is any benefit over using my present favorite... Varget.
