.... I was shown a vintage 314-P that refuses to feed from the tube magazine, now before anyone starts punching the pins out of the receiver, is there any other likely cause of it not feeding at all, that would'nt require pulling the whole trigger/feed system out and then facing a nervous breakdown, trying to line up the pins , getting it back together ? Otherwise, the rifle seems in really good shape, with no obvious signs of broken parts, and the barrel looks really good ! .... suggestions gratefully appreciated ! (Numrich were the only source of an exploded diagram that I could find, and you had to pay for that ! )....David K.

.... PROBLEM SOLVED ! .... 'Got a chance to have a close look at the 314 with decent lighting ! It's got to be a very early edition, beautiful wood and great inletting ! Anyway, when you look at the action under decent lighting, although it seems at first glance to be a "Rube Goldberg" arrangement, it's really pretty good, and other than the spring in the magazine tube and the trigger return, there are no springs to wear or break! The problem actually was the little finger arrangement that allows a round from the magazine to slip into the lifting mechanism, and then retracts once the round is lifted to the breach face and the bolt starts to close, being stuck ! Access is from the bottom of the receiver, and it shows as a tiny lip in a grooved track. Once again, WD 40 to the rescue ! Flushed the whole thing out throughly, and now it feeds just fine ! Love it when a problem has a simple, and cheap solution ! ...... David K.
