Vintage Rifle Shoot – Sunday July 5 at Winona (near Hamilton)

We had so much fun at the shoot last week, we are doing it again.

Any rifle you want, although 223/5.56 is best on Winona because of template restrictions. We will shoot at 100, 200 and 300 yards. in addition to a static target, you will get to shoot at a Snap target (3 second exposures) and a Moving target at each distance.

100 is shot standing, but kids and newbies are welcome to shoot it prone. Prone shooting can use a rest.
2 or 3 shooters will be assigned to each target. 1 will mark targets/keep score while the other shoots.
I am attaching a sample score card. Please see how the scores are recorded and added up. It will help me immensely if you keep score properly.

When you go to the butts to mark targets, you need 3 things:
• Ear muffs, because it is noisy down there.
• A pen, to keep score.
• And you need to know the name of the shooter(s) you are marking, for the score card.

I will confirm the shoot is still on the night before the shoot, and again, early in the morning, by email. If the weather looks dodgy, please check your email before going to the range.

We had five dad’s at the Father’s Day shoot who brought their kid to shoot. This worked out very well. Dad could shoot first and then junior could move onto the rested and zeroed rifle and have at it. The kids shot well and by the looks of it, had a great time.

I invite you to bring your wife or a junior and we will come up with a special (reduced) entry for you.

Although we have prizes (Vintage wine) this is more of a shooting opportunity to shoot whatever rifle you want to play with than a competition. I will be shooting my Mosin Nagant and maybe a M14.
