The next Vintage shoot is May 30 at Amiens Range, Camp Borden. (June 5th is cancelled)
These matches involve shooting standing at 100 yards and prone at 200 and 300 yards. I think the best fun is trying to hit the moving target at each distance.
It seems to me that the "lead" required at 100 yards is only an inch or two. At 200 yards, about 10 inches seems to work and at 300 yards, I use a foot of lead.
The easy way to do this is to aim at the center of the target pit and let the target walk into the sights. I have a video of this. Click on link to YouTube.
Remember, any kind of rifle is welcome - AR-15, hunting rifle or an old milsurp. You don't have to be a vintage shooter or even have to own a vintage rifle.
