Trying to locate a vintage steel side mount for my 250 Savage. Side of my receiver has two tapped holes on the side but no idea what mount used that pattern. Previous owner did not recall any scope or mount for it.
Receiver is perfectly round (model 40) and I am wondering if Weaver ever made a mount like the one in the picture but for a 1" tube so I can use my old K2.5. All the ones I've seen are for 3/4" tubes. Keep in mind I am asking only about the one piece steel that mounted directly to the receiver, not the later model that had the aluminum. The picture below will make it all clear.
Open to ideas for other 1928-1940's all steel mounts.
