When is the Viper HS line coming out in Canada? It is my understanding that it is the hunting version of the PST so it lacks some features like the illuminated reticle and nice turrets but comes with turret caps.

I think I would prefer a HS over a PST because of the turret caps and because I don't need a illuminated reticle and it has a lower MSRP the the PST:) After some searching I see some American retailers have them for sale but I probably can't import them.

I'm not in the market for one currently but maybe in the summer when I have a little bit of cash it could be in the cards. I haven't heard anything here or anywhere else for that matter so I thought I would ask if anybody knew.

The HS is the new scope with an exposed ranging turret correct. So most of the turrets are capped, but the key elevation one is a tall adjustable. I believe they are only coming out in BDC reticle too.

I'd be expecting them around mid-april? Definitely by the time summer shooting starts

I want capped turrets and do not need the magnification of the LR models so thats why I was thinking just the regular HS. I didn't know about the limited elevation adjustment. 1/2 MOA elevation should be sufficient as this will probably not be shot past 300 yards (usually around 100) and I'm likely to misjudge drop by more than 1.5" at that distance anyway.

last i heard, these should be here in June / July

I talked to vortex the other day being curious as well, I put one of the long range versions pre-order, and vortex Canada told me they were expecting a June delivery of their first stock.

Yes I heard June as well. The HS is essentially the hunting version of the PST, with the HS LR having 1/2 MOA clicks on the elevation adjustment only. The reason for the 1/2 MOA clicks is so a hunter who may engage a target any where from 0 right out to 600-800 or beyond can make massive elevation adjusts very quickly with in just one revolution of the turret. It will get you to with in plus/minus 1/4 MOA of your point of aim as long as you have ranged the target properly.
