Visiting Lethbridge Alberta area in June

We got plenty of gophers! And we've had a VERY mild winter so unless we get a late March frost that kills them off, I'm predicting a very high gopher population this year. Bring lots of ammo! Also, I'm pretty sure you can hunt coyotes anytime.

Finding land to shoot can sometimes be tricky.

Not too worried about land access as my wife's family owns some land around Nobleford. So it is open season on coyotes?

There are regulations regarding coyotes, and more so for non-residents. I don't have a copy of the hunting regs in front of me, but please be sure to check that out before assuming it's open season on coyotes for you. I'm not completely sure, but I don't think it is.

from the regs.
A Non-resident or Non-resident Alien who holds a Non-resident/Non-resident Alien Wolf/Coyote licence may hunt (but not trap) coyote on lands to which he or she has the right of access to hunt, from opening day of a big game in a particular WMU to May 31, 2016, or until June 15 if the hunting is in a WMU that has a spring season for black bear ending on that date.
