Hey

I am looking for some input on a big problem I am having.

I purchased a new Vltor M14 Modstock and put it on my M305 shorty that has a muzzlebreak. After 40 round the stock cracked above the trigger. I sent it back under warranty and got a new one back. I took it out to the range to sight it in and it cracked around the same spot after 20 rounds this time.

Am I doing something wrong?
Do these stocks have a history of this?
or do I just have really bad luck?

Any help would be much appreciated
Thanks

This is why there is such a long waiting list for the M14Doc's stocks. Except for the were's waldo threads now and again his stock's out perform these Vltor stocks and also they are lighter. He has a video of the 2 of them getting wieghed together some were. You will have to ask the Doctor what the web address is.
Further more I would hit him up and see if he can repair it or if it is a flaw in the design and it is not worth repairing cause it will happen again.

I can makeb you a stock, with the parts from your vltor, that will not fail. It'll cost about 300.00 but it will end your frustration.
The vltor is an aluminum adapter assembly, held onto the ass end of a chopped USGI stock by 1 bolt and some epoxy. It's the seam dOwn the middle of all fiberglass usgi stocks that doom the Vltor from the get go.

I just talked to Vltor regarding this issue. They are currently improving the trigger portion of the stock and reinforcing it, therfore, I have been waiting for the shipment for a while.
