This post and the Husqvarna...would you? post are pretty much because of the rifles offered for sale from TradeEx. They seem to have a pretty good selection so i'm considering them as i am in the market for a new rifle.

So....Voere. Austrian right? Anybody have any first hand experience with rifles made by this company? If so, let us know about it please.

Yes, Austrian. I have a Voere in 7mm Rem Mag which I acquired new in about 1970. Although it's been cosmetically refurbished once over the years, and has had scopes changed out from time to time, it has never required the attention of a gunsmith for functional reasons. To me, its mauser type action is not nearly as smooth as some of the newer stuff (Tikka, Ruger, and a number of others), but it still shoots accurately, and works as reliably as it did 40 years ago. It remains my go to gun when I think I might need a flat shooter carrying a good punch at a long distance... though "long distance" for me can be defined by fewer and fewer yards or metres the older I get.

There are /were 2 different Voeres, I've had both, one is Austrian and guns are usually marked "Voere Kufstein Austria". The other outfit is a little more obscure and are made in Germany and marked "Voere Voehrenbach", the nice .22s made by this group are called/marketed by Mauser now and draw a premium. Like I said I only think this true because I have had both and they seem very diff. and made in two diff. countries. They may even have the same parent company and sold half of it to Mauser???

I have a Voere Model 2185 semi-auto rifle in 30-06.

A unique rifle indeed, mine is made in Kufstien Austria. Short throat, match chamber dimesions I suspect. And dislikes any 180 grain bullet or heavier. Trigger sadjustable from the outside. Can be adjusted to a very lightweight. (look out!!)Short barrel, heats up fast, & very good blueing finish.
It is said, that a Mr Sirkis of IMI fame, (Israeli ex-army sniper and olympic shooting athlete) helped to design it.

I have an austrian voere 2150 in 30-06. its my favorite rifle! its light, reliable and looks good, and fits me just right. it has an adjustable trigger and built on mauser 98 action very nice blueing. unlike brutus's 2185, my 2150 loves the 180gr. by far my favorite rifle.

Never used one, but I have dealed with trade-ex, and if you're considering buying from them, they are great! Anthony under rates all his guns, their condition tends to be alot better than he says. Deal with confidence.
