OK I have to admit I am a gun-junkie! ;)

While I have no need for a rifle chambered in .375 H&H I have recently happened across a real sweet rifle built by Voere. For all outward appearances it is a standard M98 Mauser only the metalwork and blueing is better than most and is in fact flawless as is the European style stock. The rifle comes to shoulder like a dream and the express sights line up as soon as my cheek welds to the stock! The bare rifle also is fairly light and must weigh in under 7 1/2 pounds bare.

So what are every-one's opinions of this rifle? Also what would be a fair retail price on it?

Goes with the territory. I was sorely tempted by someone on CGN selling a Dumoulin in .375. Nearly bought it just because it was a classic.

Pretty fancy. But 7.5 lbs. OUCH! (And double set triggers on a .375? Must be for those 500 yd. klipspringer shots.)

Titans are good guns. had a couple but not that big of calibre. Sold them and regretted it. If its less than $800 Id buy it. If its in real good shape like new looking, you might consider $950 as 375HH usually go for a bit more.
 
I own a Voere 2185, my only complaint if I should call it that,is the chamber is made to almost match tolerances. Therefore 95% of factory ammo will jam in it. Any and I mean ANY deviation from full length resizing and reloaded ammo will also jam the action. (bolt will not go fully forward into battery)
This rifle has an unusually short throat and I cannot get any weight higher than 168 to shoot well at all. Not a big deal as the first issue. However it is the most accurate hunting rifle I own! You can adjust the trigger pull easily without any takedown required at all.
Typical European Hunting Rifle....very high quality, very accurate newly made, seem to be made for ONE specific use and one use only! I guess if they wanted to kill anything bigger they will gome home to Bavaria and grab their 9.3 Millimeters.
(a mini 14/mini 30 opposite, Ruger should contract Voere to make all of their centrefire semis!!!)

Titans look different than a standard M98. I think the Voeres that were based on the 98 were called Cougars. The Titan is in a completely different class...meaning far superior. If it was a Titan, and in very good condition, I'd say even $1000+ would be a fair price. The only thing is that most people aren't that familiar with them so are hesitant to pay the $ for it. Mine was ~$1700 new in the mid 80's. The ones I've seen used, which are few and far between, are usually listed for the $1000-$1200 range, although I have seen two for less: a .308 with mounts and scope for $750 (what a steal!) and a .375 H&H at Wholesale in the mid 90's for $850, but it wasn't in very good condition.

I've seen Voere Cougars for sale in the $500 range, but I have never seen one in .375 H&H so I can't really place a value on it. IIRC the Voere Cougars were made in Austria, wereas the Titans were made in Hamburg, Germany.
