Does anyone have a summit?

I’m debating doing a summit build. I find them very interesting and great that I can use a 10/22 barrel stock and trigger group.

I’m just looking for some real world reviews. Curious if volquartsen has remedied the issues that pws had and the early summits had such as erring linkages snapping linkages and the changing headspace from wearing parts.

If I’m going to spend a small fortune to build this I want to know that it will last a hell of a long time and once I install a barrel with correct headspace I won’t have to touch it again

When the Summit changed hands to VQ, I was following with interest. I do recall that they did a bunch of upgraded to correct problems. They now have the Summit in a 17 WSM which is intriguing, but having looked at it at SHOT its pretty clunky looking.

Did you ever pursue the Summit? I’ve got a couple and might be able to help. One is a VQ built 16.5” and the other has their 12.3” barrel. Send me a PM if you have any questions as I won’t be checking back here for replies too often.
 
Also would be interested in a Volquartsen Summit action (receiver & bolt) only. But would like to hear about how tough/reliable they are. Sylvester sports ? had an offering with action, barrel, trigger & magpul stock. But unable to find just the action only so far. Thanks.
