They've had that deal going for a little while now. I got one too. it's new old stock with a 1" tube. All the new ones are 30mm. Great price on a great scope though. I also picked up a pair of 10x42 diamondback binoculars from when they were clearing them out around black Friday.

How good is this scope and what would you say is a close comparison to it? The local stores here don't have much selection so I can't see it before I buy it. I take it that this is a good price for it but it's discontinued on their site, also states it's a $399 US retail price item.
I've only looked at a Nikon ProStaff and a more expensive Burris (liked the Burris more).
How deep are the discounts on these?

I've had 2 Vortex Red Dots and they've been awesome.
Vortex Viper on sale has a 1" Tube as well, tempting.
I was watching a YouTube video at the Vortex quality control center in Wisconsin and they showed a display case of some of the best warranty scopes... some where almost destroyed. Best warranty in the business I hear, that they take anything back and will repair or replace.
