Hey guys, my .223 wears a new Vortex Viper HS with the BDC reticle and I have to say, I've never loved a scope more than I do this one. :) Ok FINE...I'll post a pic..

Anyhow, I've decided to give one of my almost-retired .22s a little more time this fall, and think it's time for a little scope upgrade for it. It currently wears an old Bushnell Trophy 3-9x40. As this will be the gun I take with me if I ever get out to Gopher Country AB, I'm wanting a little more magnification..something in the 12x range. More than I need most of the time, but I don't need to use it all either. Anyhow, if I'm ordering online...I'd be taking a chance (sight unseen) on the two options I have in mind for what I want to spend...and ONE of them is a Crossfire II 3-12x40 AO with the BDC reticle. Is there anyone here who has this exact scope, OR, any Crossfire II and can comment on what they think of it for the $? I know not everyone wants to expand on how much they like their econo scope with all the high-end gear discussions on CGN, but I'm not ashamed to admit that I don't think every gun or application deserves a $500-$1000 scope. There...I said it. :)

I appreciate you taking the time to comment, and would even welcome (here, or via PM) input from Vortex dealers.

Thanks in advance.

Happy to oblige! I just picked one of the Crossfire II 4-12x50's up this weekend to go with a Savage 93/17 TTR-SR. In a word....impressive. Especially for the price. It's clear as can be, solid, easy adjustments......did I mention how clear it is? I'm comparing its clarity to scopes many, many times its price. I truly believe it shames pretty much anything out there in its price range and quite possibly a lot higher. I don't think you could go wrong. I'd post a picture if I wasn't at work.

The redesign on the Crossfire II has me liking it almost as much as the Diamondback line up. If Vortex had it purged with Argon instead of Nitrogen, I wouldn't own anything Diamondback. Crossfire II on some and Vipers or Viper HS on the go-to guns. Got to love them for the quality you get for dollar spent.

We've been selling alot of the 4-12's (40, 44, 50, AO). Everyone I've sold one too loved the.

I've been checking out the crossfire ii as well, I was wondering does anybody know how it compares side by side with the Nikon pro staff ii ? They are in the same price range and the specs seem very similar.. both made in Phillipines too I believe.
