Hi everyone,

What are your thoughts on these two 2-7 scopes for use on a .22lr? Vortex Diamondback 2-7x35 or the Leupold VX-1 2-7x28mm Rimfire? There's about a $60 difference between them with the Leupold being more expensive.

Do you have any other recommendations for 2-7, or 3-9 scopes that are less than $350 taxes in?

Thanks everyone,
Cal.

I haven't used that model Leupold but I do have a 2-7x33 VX1 and the Vortex 2-7x35 both decent scopes. I would give the optical edge (especially low light conditions) to the Vortex. So far no issues with either scope Leupold on a 7mm-08 and Vortex on a 30-06.

Can't comment on Vortex, but I have that exact Leupold on one CZ452 22lr. Nice and clear, easy to adjust even though it has friction dials, holds zero well.

For something totally different, I put a Nikon Prostaff 2-7x32 Shotgun scope (75 yrd. parallax setting) on another CZ452 22lr. Slightly more eye relief, nice and clear optics, maybe even slightly brighter, with click turret dials. No complaints, and 75 yrd parallax setting is no problem with low magnification scopes.

We buy Leupold for reputation and warranty, and pay more for it. That's life. At the same time, this Nikon just happened to be on sale for 1/2 the price of Leupold rimfire scope, so I gave it a try. I'm now very happy with both.
