Anyone running that spotting scope?

Here is my plan and context.

In the last 12 months I have spent more than I ever have in shooting gear, guns, scopes, ammo etc... So the razor gen 2 is out of the question for 2018.
I got 3 upcoming 500M outings with my custom .308, spotting scope will be to see bullet holes and/or splash on steel, and not to make shot corrections.
My current scope on my 308 is the razor gen ll 4.5-27x56, I am aware I will be losing apochromatic glass when looking in the spotter.
Income tax return 2019, if I am unsatisfied with diamondback spotter, will get a razor gen ll spotter and sell the diamondback on the EE with 3 range trips only behind it.
If I find one on the EE already, loses will be minimal.

Those who have looked through it, can a diamondback spotter see 30 cal holes at 500?

I compared the Diamondback to a Vortex Viper outside the Wholesale Sports store in North Edmonton (before going on a mountain goat hunt) a few years ago. The Diamondback was unable to resolve siding screws on the hotel barely 200 yards away. The Viper easliy resolved them.

Based on that, I would not expect the Diamondback to be capable of resolving .30 cal holes at 500 yards.

If you have the opportunity, compare them side by side before making your buying decision.

Thanks for your honest input. Since then read another thread on another forum, that scope wasn’t able to resolve .223 at 300M.
I won’t settle for viper, as once you reach that price point may as well go all the way and get razor gen ll (same logic i went with my scope)

Either i put it on a card and pay it monthly, or wait to have cold hard cash.
I prefer the later i think so will make due without one until spring.
