Im looking to buy the vortex diamondback tactical 4x16 ffp , but before i press the trigger im wondering if i could find a better scope for this price range (500$)

Interesting, I have a crossfire on my .22 that's been banged around in truck, still holds true. Shot a friend's diamondback this weekend on a 22-250, cranked up and down for gophers, always came back to zero.
I myself am now looking at a diamondback tactical, will do more research now

I've had the opportunity to look through a lot of scopes and I bought that scope because nothing else at that price point looked as good to my eye or offered the features I was looking for.

Haven't been able to break it yet.

I have no experience with that vortex scope. Other diamond backs have been good to me... But in that price range I'd be looking for a Burris veracity ffp scope. 3-15. They come up on the EE regularly for around 600-700

I personally think that you should raise your price bar to 600 or 700 and find a good used Leupold. Buy once, cry once. I have Leupold VX2’s on most of my rifles and love them. Bought a bolt action 223 and put a Vortex Diamondback 4-12 on it. I can tell you that there is a huge quality difference and I won’t be buying one again.

Frontier Firearms has 3-18×50 FFP Falcon on sale for $580. Illuminated reticle. YouTube has been giving it great reviews. Lots of elevation adjustment.
For hunting at last light, you'll want the illuminated reticle especially on 3x.
