Hello,

I'm looking for some input on my first pair of hunting binoculars. I've been looking around and think I have narrowed it down between the Diamondback and the Talon HD as they both seem to get good reviews and wont break the bank account.

I have two main questions...

1. Should I choose 8x42 or 10x42 (all hunting will be in BC)

2. Is the Talon worth paying twice as much as the diamondback?

Does anyone have any feedback on these models?

I have the talons and my uncle has diamond backs. They are both good. I find them a bit bulky when i hunt so i was looking to get a smaller size in a 10x magnification. When you have both binos side by side in the field you can notice the better glass on the talons. But in my opinion both are good choices and the diamond back are great value for the money.

A little off topic, but why don't you skip the diamond back and get a pair of ZenRay's from Cameraland

It says they are currently sold out, however Im sure they will get some more in soon. I bought a pair of 8 x 43 and looked through them side by side with my buddy's Vortex Razor binocs (around $1200 binos) and they are very very hard to see the difference. And at a $400 price point and lifetime warrenty I don't know how you could go wrong. Do some research on them, you will be impressed.

Thanks for the feedback, I ended up getting a pair of Talon HD 10x42 off the E.E. for $300 shipped.

Overall I really like the Talons but can see how they could be a little bulky
