Vortex HD 1-4 Illum question

I it normal in a 1300$ scope that illumination shuts of everytime under recoil? I annoys the hell out of me. I'm shooting a JP .223 rifle with almost no recoil

The scope of course is the Vortex HD 1-4 that retails for about 1300$

Sounds like a loose battery to me. Check and make sure battery contacts are not bent flat, gently pry up slightly if they are. Tighten down battery cap.

even my 500 IR scope doesn't do that.

Got a hold of them. They have very good customer service, if I can't fix it, they will.

I had the same issue with my 1-4x Razor- I ended up returning it to Vortex and they sent me a brand new one in exchange.

I found it could be temporarily fixed by jamming a small piece of foam between the battery and cap, but didn't like that solution. Vortex replaced it and had it back to me inside 2 weeks.
