I recently had a Vortex PST 1-4x on my XCR and it was a very nice scope for the money, I am just looking to get a little bit more magnification. I am looking at the 2.5-10x ones and just wondering if anyone has tried the HS series vs the PST series as it is about 3-400$ cheaper. Has anyone had any experience with either of these? What do you think of them? Is the PST worth the extra chunk of change? As far as I can tell the only real differences are the exposed turrets and illuminated reticle?

Exposed turrets designed to be adjusted regulary and set up for zero stop. Its a big feture if your shooting past 200 or shoot a cartraige like a .308 rainbow.
Also remeber if its a pst thats around 1000 bucks and not a mavsive scope you could use as a bat, odds are its a FFP (first focal plane) model as well and worth its weight in gold.
Normaly the diferance between the HD and its turreted counter part is 200-300

I just bought a mil/mil 2.5-10 PST from a guy on here actually. The exposed turrets and zero stop are really nice features, and I don't think I'd buy a scope with out them now

the difference is all in the features, as the glass is the same. you have to decide if the features warrant the extra cost for you.

I have 2 HS 6-24 LR FFP scopes and they have zero stop as well. I bought the HS modle for the XLR reticle.
