Vortex magnifier with Eotech on a ft AR?

Anything I need to know about using a vortex magnifier with an Eotech EXPS2-2 on a Colt 6920? I'm thinking height-wise (as in so they line up correctly)? Found a good deal on a Eotech on the EE and looking to add a lil bit of mag for longer ranges. Not sure if I'm gonna like this setup hence going for a Vortex instead of big buck Eotech magnifier in case I don't like it, in which case I'll get an Elcan OS4x or Acog Ta11F.

As an aside, have a .22 AR en route and looking to set it up with a less expensive sight that would have a similar reticle to the etch for commonality's sake. Anything like tat exist or just get a Sparc or something similar?

I had a VMX-3T paired with my EoTech for awhile. It lined up perfectly. I ended up selling it as I found the release button a little cumbersome to use during matches, and the mount has just the slightest bit of play in it. I go the "bug buck EoTech magnifier" (G33) and never looked back! The EoTech magnifier is GREAT, and very fast to deploy.

If you're looking for a EoTech style donut of death with a slightly smaller cost I suggest you look at the Holosun 503C. I picked up the single dot 403C for my shotgun and have been happy with it so far.
 
Thanks a ton! I figure if I like using a magnifier, I'll pony up for the G33. In the meanwhile the Vortex isn't a real big investment. I'll look into those Holosuns as well.
 
I run an Eotech and Vortex 3x magnifier on a ftu AR and it's fine. I have no issues as a RH person with the flip system. I just reversed the mount so the magnifier flips to the right now and out of my FOV when engaging close targets during a match, etc.
 
I have a colt socom and it is fine, xps-2 + vortex 3x, although I am waiting for the new holosuns to come out to eventually replace the eotech for something that never runs of out battery power :)

So loving my eotech! Just got the magnifier though and with the ADM swivel mount it won't clear my magpie buis while "swivelling". It clears fine when just sitting there but binds up while engaging or disengaging. Anyone else have this issue? I like having buis on my rifle so not really keen to remove em. Am I looking at getting a different mount? One of the ones that flips to the side?

what? what kind of magnifier, g33? thought you were getting a g33. if you look at my picture above, it clearly works with the buis, flipped to side and non flipped to side
 
Got the Vortex magnifier for a good deal on the EE. Might just run it for a while with no buis and if I like the whole magnifier concept, re-sell it and get the G33.
