I have a Vortex Crossfire HD Scout 1.5-5.5x32 and all the documentation I read says it needs 1” rings but the Vortex 1” ones ( I bought a medium height from bass pro) are too loose? The gun shop guys screwed up I guess but I’d like to know was the documentation wrong or not?
What rings should I get for mounting this on my Tikka T3x 6.5CM and Savage Axis .308 both equipped with a Pictinnay rail?

If the scope has a 1" diameter tube you need 1" diameter rings. If the rings are too loose on your base(s) you have the wrong interface to mount the rings to your base.

Posting a pic of the rings and packaging would help determine what your next steps should be.

Weird, Vortex scope tubes are generally 1" or 30mm. For a set of 1" rings to be too big, the tube would have to be like 25mm? Which makes no sense, I don't think Vortex makes a Crossfire with a 25mm tube. I'd blame the rings, but that's also weird. Is the scope loose in the rings, or are the rings loose on the rail?

I have Leupold PRW rings on a couple rifles, and they're pretty decent for a cheaper ring.
