Vortex razor 1-6

Well I hope you guys didn't lead me down the wrong path...lol

I picked up a nice clean razor with FDE ADM mount for 1500$! Looking forward to getting it

I've been bouncing back and forth between a few optics. The typical acog vs elcan- which one to buy, or neither? And the razor keeps coming up in the online comparisons as the better choice.

I do want the specter 1.5-6x, but I think it almost amounts to rifle bling, and might not be the smartest choice, given the options out there. (Looking at the ta55a, too. What a beast! lol!). Rifle's due in the next week, so I still have a bit of time to decide.

These things retail for about the same as a Kahles K16i, so why pick a razor 2 over a K16i?

My reasoning behind it,
Razor may not be the best but is very clear and easy to use, love mine.
Even if there was a clearly superior optic for the same price,
Run your AR hard during 3 gun or service rifle, bang the scope around and god forbid break it, you will be covered with Vortex.

If I had more money, I wouldn't worry about and replace it if I broke it,
But since I can only purchase 1x 2K or + scope per 2 years, I started with a razor gen ll 1-6 and a razor gen ll 4-27, at least if a major mishap happens i'm covered without benching guns for 2 years...

The vortex warranty is big plus to me. I've taken advantage of it a couple times and speed of service has been second to none.
When you run a gun hard, accidents can happen plain and simple. A scratched lense on a "you don't need to worry about warranty" 4k scope can happen with a simple drop of the gun. Now if my Schmidt got gouged I'd be deviated. My razor on the other hand would simply ship back to vortex for free repairs.
Sounds like a win to me. Plus it's military cred and reputation helped me make my decision.

I have both the 1.5*6 elcan and the Gen 2 razor. Only reason to buy the elcan is if you want Canadian made. Don't get me wrong the elcan is nice and very robust but I don't think it is close in value.
