I am looking for a new scope to put on a hunting rifle and came across the new Vortex razor LHT, i have not been able to get to a retailer that carries them to have a look through one so looking for some feed back if possible before i order one.
I don’t have any Vortex products currently but this scope looks interesting with the locking elevation turret, zero stop and capped windage, looking to get something for my son so these options would be a plus to eliminate accidental adjustments.
I have a NF compact on my rifle, i would expect clarity of the Razor should be on par or close to the NF would it not??

Since you’re talking about higher end scopes, check out the higher end of the Leupold line. They’re very light compared to most, glass is excellent, quality is very good and a very good warranty.

I have 2 of the predecessors, the Razor HD LH, and absolutely love them. Probably one of, if not my favorite hunting scope. I wouldn't hesitate getting one of the new LHTs for my next rifle. Another option would be one of the Burris models but I believe they are heavier, though if you have a nightforce already you may not be concerned with weight.

On another note, I'd avoid Leupold, I've owned dozens of leupold products over the years and it seems they've gone down hill lately. Easily 50% of their stuff has failed or had major defects. Countless lens and erector failures and even a brand new VX6 scope off the shelf had a dead fly inside of it. They are still great about their warranty but I feel it shouldn't be needed that often. I'm not hard on my equipment and have never had any trouble or other failures besides leupold and bushnell. I've sold off every leupold item I owned and replaced with Vortex, Burris, or Swaro.

Really enjoy my Razor HD LH scopes. Wish I bought more before they were discontinued. I wouldn’t hesitate to pick up the LHT unless you find them a little heavy for what you want.

I found myself 75 yards from a moose, 10 minutes before sunrise. I couldn’t tell if it was a cow or the young bull we were after with my Nikon Monarch 5 8x42s. Switched to the Razor 3-15x42 LH and there was no question, the antlers really popped in the scope. I was quite impressed.

Traded my Leupold Vari-X 111, 2.5-8×36 for the Vortex Razor HD LH 2-10×40, with the G4 Reticle, took another buck with it last week, I'm not going back, really happy with it,

Im pleased with my Razor HD LH, I got the G4 reticle aswell, it comes up fast to my eye for faster shots on coyotes, so far I enjoy it. I dont think you can go wrong with a Razor line,

I have both the older razor lh and the new lht. I love them both and the lht seemed brighter to my eye in a 42mm objective than my 85mm razor spotting scope. Wtf??

I have the HD LHT with HSR-5i MRAD reticle, really like the scope, I don’t really care about illumination seems to track well and no POI shifts, glass is crystal clear

Been interested in these new ones. MRAD like most of my other optics. Have a VX5 that I love the glass. Can anyone speak to a direct comparison?

I was just in Cabelas with the intent of buying the LHT but i ended up walking out with a VX-5HD. I would say the glass on the LHT was very comparable to the VX5 but i couldn't get over how Vortex went cheap using a standard reticle focus eye piece. i struggled to get the reticle nice and clear and the locking ring for the eye piece felt super cheap. I also could see the illumination not just in the centre dot but seemed to show up in various parts of the lens? Not sure if they just had a lemon on display but it was not a very good first impression thats for sure. For the price of the LHT i expected much more.

I have the 3-15×42. I've been very happy with it. My only gripe is that the power selector ring is very tight to turn and they don't make a throw lever for it. I've dialed it lots and has been repeatable

Heheh love a good necro thread, got me again as I read the whole thread without checking the date until the surprise at the end! I chuckled out loud, thanks for the chuckle!
