Hi guys, I am looking to upgrade my bino's this season. Use is mainly for PRS spotting and occasional hunting. I originally was looking at the Tract UHD 12.5x50's but the Vortex Razor UHD 12x50's have caught my eye. Quite a bit of a price difference but from my research the clarity and light transmission with the Razor UHD's would be a lot better. Capturing more detail down range would be highly beneficial.

If anyone can share experience with either or if you have input it will all be greatly appreciated!

I will add I have looked at the Apex 12x50's with the reticle as the reticle would be nice to mil targets before a stage but at this time I think I will take a pass on the Apex.

Thanks!

Razor UHD are nice binos.
My complaint with them is that they present no real bang for buck value. Theoretically there is room at a lower price for someone to match the UHD performance, but I'm not aware of anyone doing it.

I ran the UHD 18x56 for a few years and eventually upgraded to NL Pure 12x42 for the better field of view that the NL Pure line offers. Image quality is only slightly better, though.

Look up the "dark lord of optics" on youtube and opticsthoughts.com for reviews and background info.

adamg - The NL Pures I'm sure are very nice and probably are worth the money but definitely to much of a stretch for me.

vp6111 - I have been watching quite a few reviews from "The Dark Lord of Optics" and he seems to be very knowledgeable towards everything optics. He did have one review of the Tract UHD 15x56's and in the review he spoke pretty highly of them. He said in other words they definitely are not tier 1 binos but the Tracts were not really making him want more for his use case (if that makes sense).

Maybe other people can chime in but I kinda feel if I am going to spend around the $1000 mark for binos and not going to lie I am sure the binos at this price point coming out of Japan are very nice but to jump up a bit more in price and get a bino with the ABBE KOENIG prism would not leave me desiring more in the future. Or are the $1000 range of binos going to give me most of what I am looking for as far as spotting misses and picking up detail down range for PRS? As a side note it is mostly rimfire PRS (so closer distances and out to say 450 yards on the high end), but also the odd centerfire PRS match.

In this case, you probably know his go-to bino is Razor UHD 10x50, not because he cannot afford more expensive offerings but because it is quite good and good enough for his use case. He takes questions, email him or ask him during one of his live-stream sessions.
