I'm firing off an email to Vortex but wanted to throw this out on the forum here to get some additional feedback or experiences.
I have a new Vortex Viper PST 4-16x SFP scope. I was looking through the scope today and noticed some blemishes to the bottom right of the reticule. At first i thought it was a dirty lens so I cleaned them off and it was still there. Next I thought it was a damaged lens so i inspected the outside lenses and didn't see anything. Staring through the scope for a while I've come to the conclusion that I'm 90% sure it's some kind of dirt/particle or foreign substance on the inside of the rear lens.
It's a pretty apparent mark when you look through the scope. I seem to recall someone on here mentioning something similar with vortex products but I couldn't find it in a search.
Does dirt and crap on the inside of the scope happen often with these?
Is it indicative of a larger problem and will get worse?
Is this something that the Vortex Warranty will fix or replace?
Lastly what kind of turn around time have people experienced with Vortex products?
I've used a lot of cheaper scopes and never noticed something like this so it's kind of surprising on a $800+ scope.
