Hey guys,

I am probably making an amateur mistake, but I can't seem to get this optic to stay tight on the picatinny rail. I had to crank on it hard, with an allen key, to get the base to stop wobbling on the rail. I shot about 60 rounds through it, and it was starting to wiggle already. I must be doing something wrong, as this is my first time working with a setup like this. I just screwed the low mount on to it, and then on to the rail. It actually shot really well once I got it dialed in, but it did come loose on me.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

How tight are you tightening it? should be about 20 inch pounds for the clamp screw on it.

Or tighten until the screw stops turning with the tips of 2 fingers on the short section of the little wrench and maybe 1/8th of a turn (45*) more (MAX) torquing it. It definitely shouldn't be coming loose under recoil from a 9mm or .40 carbine like that.

I tightened it to the point where I was worried I would strip the screw. I need to get a small torque screwdriver for stuff like this. I guess I'll take it back to the store tomorrow and see what's up. Something isn't right. I did notice there was already blue loctite on the screw.. Found that odd since it shouldn't have been torqued yet, being brand new. I wonder if someone else had the same problem, returned it, then I bought it.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Edit: Just tried the raised base and it fits perfectly.

Often the screws will come with pre-applied Loc-tite. I'm pretty sure the Sparc I had did. No need to think your Sparc was used.

Seems I have managed to get it snug. It's really finicky. Some spots on the rail it was fine, others it was loose. I think the piece the screw threads into was slightly crooked and binding or something. I think you're right about the loctite Stevo. The high mount had it on the threads as well.
