Does anyone use the included 2x screw-in magnifier with the Sparc? Wondering if anyone with experience with it knows if the POI changes with and without it at the same distance?

I have only used the Sparc indoors so far and didn't try the doubler, but wanted to give it a try out to 200y on the weekend. I'm just wondering if I zero the red dot without the doubler, if I can expect the same POI with and without it.

It doesn't seem that great, but figured I would give it a try since I have it.
 
I have one, tried it and found that it sucks in every conceivable way. It is like looking through a fishbowl and doesn't magnify anything enough to help anything.
 
I know the magnification and FOV aren't great with it, but still curious if it actually changes the POI if the optic is zeroed without it.
 
I zeroed mine with the doubler at 20 yards (indoor range :( Then, when I removed the doubler, the POI shifted significantly, two or so inches to the right and high. Sent it back to Vortex for repair or whatever. Will see if it helps. My understanding that the POI shouldn't really change as the doubler just magnifies whatever the scope is projecting. I'm not sure if parallax comes into play here though, and I couldn't find an answer.
 
Interesting. I think I will just pretend the doubler doesn't even exist. I forgot that I had a Vortex VMX3 3x magnifier on another rifle I had lent out, so I am going to get that back and use it. :)
 
Will give both the doubler and the VMX3 a try this weekend if I can. When you get yours back, let me know if it makes any difference.
 
Hey themikea, I got my second replacement scope. The first one had a huge halo and the elevation screw didn't click. But finally happy with the last one. The doubler doesn't seem to shift the POI as was happening with the original scope. Must have been the defective doubler.
