Vortex spark 2

So I just revived a spark 2 for Christmas, which is amazing. But when I turned it on the dot looks really strange to me. I see multiple little dots connected by lines. It almost looks like a spider web. It's not as promenent when on dim but bright is quite bad.

Is this normal or should I be contacting vortex for warranty issues. At least that seems rock solid.
 
I just put a brand new one on one of my guns and no spider webs. The dot looks a little ragged to my eye, but that's cuz my right eye is getting worse with age. How far apart are the dots in the circle of the optic?
 
Not very far at all. It's not as noticeable when looking at a target but when I'm looking at the dot it's extreamly noticeable.
 
Is it more of a sparkle effect, or is there some separation between the dots? Mine does have almost a sparkle when I focus on the dot.
 
I can see space inbetween. From reading other places I have seen that's normal because the dot is made of multiple little dots but I was wondering if anyone else has seen lines between the dots.

Apparently I might just have astigmatism.

I've heard this theory too. Have a few people look through it, if they see the same thing as you, it's a defect and can be sent to Vortex Canada for warranty.
 
Lots of complaints on other forums that the dot is not perfectly round and looks flared. The reason I haven't bought one yet. Why they didn't make this out of a single dot is beyond me. It's a great price but a poor design.
