What are the differences between the sparc and the strikefire?

I am going to mount it on my Ar, what would you recommend?

I am hearing theres a tactical and hunting version of each and both come in just red dot and red / green.

Which is better?

This is going to be used for zombie defense with the longest range of 100 yards.

sparc is 2 moa whereas the srikefire is 4 moa at 100 if i remember correctly. sparc has better mounts for acheiving co witness with AR's and other rifles. sparc is smaller and more compact. strikefire is cheaper by 50$ or so. i cant say much about the green dot one as i have never seen one. i would take the sparc over the srikefire simply for the different mounting heights that are possible but both are excellent red dots for their prices. both will be excellent zombie killer when that day finally comes.

I didn't realize it before I bought mine but the strikefire is massive! The sparc is much more compact. I like the strikefire though, it is rugged and solid.

Personal preference. I run strikefires on most of my AR's. Work very well in you do not need to have a very compact RD sight.

I run Sparcs on several of my subguns and compacts simply to keep the overall size down. Either model will work just fine and for the money they are a great product.

Let me tell you my vortex sparc story quickly:

Bought it for 219 bucks. Came with:

1.) MANY mount / heights
2.) 2x magnification screw-in
3.) Batteries and all tools required for install
4.) WARRANTY (best in business?)
5.) Obviously the optic.

The lowest mount in my kit didn't want to grab my bc tactical rail.
So I called vortex and literally 30 seconds later, with zero hassle I had another short mount in the mail.

The mount arrived and it fits snuggly now.

I say go for the vortex - the warranty is worth is.
The optics have also been reviewed as excellent. I will be posting my own range report tomorrow.

all vortex red dots and scopes have a lifetime transferable warrenty. i dont know where you heard there is a one year warrenty on strikefires. that is just wrong........

They have an exclusion on the VIP warranty. The Strikefire is specifically named along with tripods for Limited Warranty.

Not sure on the exact details of the Limited Warranty though, but just FYI.
