Vortex Strikefire

I just mounted a new Vortex Strikefire on my CZ 858 and think that this is one of the best red dot scopes for the money. The red dot is quite crisp is bright enough that I only used the lowest two settings on a very sunny day. Took about 20-30 rounds to zero at 100 yrd.

This scope feels very very solid, optics are clear and looks awesome to boot. Perhaps the only downside is the 2x magnifier, which seems pretty cheap and will probably never see the light of day on my rifle again. Overall, highly recommended.

I bought a strikefire last week and the magnifier works excellent!

This is the mount that came in the box with my Strikefire. It's too tall really, more of an AR setup. I really like the optic though. And the gun, my first semi/black. Fabarms grip and handguards, (yes, zero did change after removal for cleaning and reinstall, but it was just a click each way up and over) stock painted with Krylon flat back and matte clear then hit it with 400 sandpaper just to take the shiny out of it.

Is that the AR setup? If so it's actually taller than the non-AR Strikefire mount.

There is the AR or hunting option for the mount on that sight.

If you notice here there is a choice on the AR or hunting (lower mount) as well as bright red dot or red/green dot.

Great post. I like the paint job on the stock. I think I will do the same. Is there any reason you have not mounted the scope 2 inches closer to your eye?

Thanks. No, being my first time with this type of setup I just arbitrarily put it there. It points really well. I took 5 shots at a 300M gong yesterday and burned the edges until I finally hit it with the last, just elbows on the bench. 200M better hit rate. I have pretty bad eyes, don't use open sites at all.

Re: painting, I did lightly sand the stock with 200 paper pre-painting, you want to do that to get better paint adhesion. Get it really clean after sanding before you spray it.

Here you go, Goldenbb-

As you can see you have to mount it all the way forward for the covers to clear. Also if leaving the rear site on you cannot mount the doubler. (not a big deal IMHO as I didn't like it anyhow.)

I've had a strike fire on my sr22 since Xmas.
Super happy with it. I've got the low mount version and that is my only complaint about it. It mounts so low that on a continous rail the front cover interfers with the rail. It needs to be made about 1/2-1 mm taller.
