Vortex Viper 6-24x50 FFP…PST or HS LR?

Hey,

Trying to make a decision between purchasing the Viper 6-24X50 FFP in either the PST or HS LR models. Would be for a 50/50 split between hunting and paper(out to 800 yards) on a .308. The reason I'm stuck with the decision is because the PST is only $50.00 more than the HS LR in the store I'm buying from. I'm fairly new to the sport so I'm not overly familiar with turrets, adjustments, or anything else that may potentially cause me a headache. Are there any major differences between these two scopes aside from the illuminated reticle that I should pay particular attention to? Thanks in advance for any feedback!

I picked up a 4/16-50 pst sfp off of the EE for a good deal and am really happy with it , the glass is a little nicer than my viper 6-24/50 which I have no complaints about at all . Honestly you can't go wrong with either one of your choices , both are great scopes and if if I had to chose I'd pick the pst bc all the turents have hash marks , I'm not to fond of the wart on the back though (illuminated recticle control knob) . But I'd be perfectly happy with the hs lr as well , the illuminated recticle ( on pst ) is kinda cool but you can easily live with out it .
