Vortex Viper for a BCL102

Hey guys, wondering what is everyone's thoughts on putting a vortex viper 4-12x40mm BDC on a BCL102. My realistic ranges for where I am are only out to 300yds. My current skills also top out at there. Does this optic make sense for my plans? If I was to use this for hunting as well it would mostly be close in shots but I am still unsure if I want to take it out as I have other rifles that work well for me.

I put that same scope on an ATRS Modern Sporter to be used coyote hunting. I have other bigger money scopes but the little Viper works for my application. Also 12x is plenty for 300 yards.

You'll get a bunch of different opinions here but ultimately it's all about a combination of what works for you and what fits your budget.
