Vortex Viper HS 2.5-10x44 with BDC reticle on a 22 Hornet~good fit?

Question for you all~a friend of mine is offering me this scope (he no longer needs) for a great price, but the only new rifle in my immediate future is a 22 Hornet. Parallax on this scope is set @ 100 yards and while I'm not getting a Hornet to shoot pop cans at 50...it would be reassuring to know I'm NOT likely to have parallax weirdness at that distance.

Bad fit for a 22 Hornet, or get it anyway? Application~groundhogs and crows @ 75-150 yards.

I'd get a scope with an adjustable optic. Specially if you will be doing a lot of shooting around 50 yards.
