These scopes are freakin badass!

Pics are taken through my blackberry.

The Viper PST (Precision Shooting Tactical) riflescope boasts features associated with top-tier riflescopes, yet comes in at a great price point.

Matching reticle and turret measurements allow accurate, fast dialing of shots.

The one-piece 30mm tube, precision-machined from a single solid block of aircraft-grade 6061-T6 aluminum, offers ample windage and elevation adjustment. Born from an intimate understanding of riflescope design, forward-thinking engineering, and open ears to a market incredibly vocal about what it wants in a riflescope, the Viper PST series delivers the performance and features tactical shooters demand at an economical price.

This retical is amazing for how fast you can get on to targets.

I have found that the biggest mistake people make when mounting optics on AR's is that they mount them too far back and too low. The rear of the eyepiece for almost all optics mounted on AR rifles shouls be about where the rear sight would be. This one is mounted just about perfect.

I've been looking at the Vortex lines as well, I have a Vortex on my gopher gun right now and am very pleased with it! This little scope looks right on an AR and I'm looking forward to having one on one of mine!

Nice scope. What is the mount like. Does it have repeatable zero if it's removed and put back on?

Eye relief is really good on this one.

The mount is made by ADM, lots of good reviews on it. Returning to zero is not an issue.

Yes. If you go to the website and order both together there is a nice savings ;)

Are you expecting regular shipments of the PST line? This is the scope I'm saving up for, but it will be awhile yet.

Yes. We also do layaway.

Certainly not a bad price (helluva lot cheaper than the NF's that seem to end up on most of my rifles). I will be interested to see the longer term feedback on this optic. Farmboy, how would you compare the NF to the Viper ?

Alrighty....so some of you quite like the Viper 1-4.

In other posts, people having been comparing the NF, and Trijicon to the Razor - and have noted a preference for the Vortex.

So...my question is this - at apprx $550, how does the Viper compare against the NF, and Trijicon Accupoint? Let's not factor the price difference - just the quality.

Interested in your perspectives.

While I don't have the viper pst, I do have nf, trijicon and razor HD. I would suspect given the price, the quality of the glass of the viper will be less than the razor, but that's obvious. Exacty HOW much 'worse' the glass is on the viper, I have no idea... But you gotta think the majority of the increase price to go to the razor MUST be glass and coatings.

Still, given my experience with vortex, I would bet the viper pst blows away anything else in the same price range.

I can not comment on quality differences between the Viper and the other brands mentioned as I have never had them all side by side to see the difference. However, while I do believe some of the price difference between the Viper and the Razor comes from glass quality, there is also a difference in the focal plane arrangement of each scope. The Razor is a First Focal Plane reticle while the Viper is a Second Focal Plane reticle. First Focal Plane reticles are harder to manufacture thus more expensive. As to other reasons for price differences, well that is above my head!

farmboy,
Do you have a deal on the Vortex PST 1-4x24 and the ADM mount pkg?

X 2 as I cannot find the deal on both products! My question is do you have a M14 with a ARMS mount that you could see if the ADM mount is high enough to clear the iron sites? I'm seriously considering one of these ... but had looked at ARMS # 22 quick detach rings??? Help and advice appreciated Farmboy,

Under the picture of the retical, click on scope + mount :)

I know we are out of the 2" offset ADM mount but do have the 3" in stock. I think we do have 1 pst 1-4 in stock, however it might have sold today.

Nope, however I sent a mount to some one a week or two ago who was going to test it on an M14. I'll see what I can find out on it.
