Vortex Viper PST 6-24x Riflescope

This scope is on sale at Cabela's from $1200 marked down to $950.

Illuminated FFP but is it a good deal or is this old stock being discounted by Vortex prior to the introduction of the new upgraded version?

This would be me stepping into the FFP so questionable if it would fit my needs.

I believe it's an old reticle that has been on-sell for a while at Cabela's.
Their sell for this item is on and off for the last few months.
if you don't care about the old reticle that has been discounted, it's a good deal.
