vortex viper tactical is this as good as nightforce

I've got a pst, sightron s3, elite 6500 t and a night force. no offence to you, but i'm starting to wonder if some individuals who are implying that the vortex and sightron are comparable to nightforce, are doing so because That's all they sell. there is a night and day difference between the vortex and night force, if you want an opinion from a retailer who carries and has field tested all three lines, talk to the team at atrs. also, from what i've been told, the profit margins on the night force are very small when compared to the other two brands.

The Vortex line of optics offers some incredible value to the shooter, but is it as good as Night Force? My eyes are pretty good, and I see a difference. Maybe someone who's eyes are not as good would not see a difference. For my money though, I prefer Vortex because the quality is still very good, it has an excellent warranty, and I have money in my pocket with a great scope on my rifle!

Optics work on a law of diminishing returns. The jump from a $100 scope to a $300 scope is huge. The jump from a $300 to a $600 scope is impressive. But the jump from a $600 to a $1500 scope is getting less and less. By the time you compare a $1500 scope and a $3000 scope the differences are miniscule.

That being said: there are always differences. A discerning eye can tell the difference between Leica and Swarovski and any other brand in between.

I've owned both and love both.

Comparing the PST to the Nightforce, I wouldn't.

However I'll probably only run the Viper PST's from now on. For the money you get a huge amount of features and amazing quality.

has anyone here used the sparc red dot? and if so how did you like it?

I like it for what it is..... A inexpensive Point sight.

But the sparc is TINY. So if you are mounting it on something like a CZ858 where it is going to be sitting far away from your eye.... some people think it is too small.

If that doesnt bother you then it is fine. (But Eotech is better... outright)

nope, still own the Nightforce. Only thing that comes close to it is my Sightron. Vortex is good for features, Nightforce and Sightron are good for optics. If you want do dads buy Vortex, if you want glass quality buy the other two. At least thats my way of looking at it. My $650 Sightron killed the $800+ Vortex PST in glass quality by a mile

If you had both, did you also sell the NF?

Nightforce, Smithd&Bender and some are what could consider the top of the line, they really shine at longer distance, low light condition, adjustements perfection... does that justify their higher price for me yes for other no and they probably shoot better than me, the line is thin at this level... Cheers. JP.

There is more of a difference in optical quality between my Vortex and Sightron, then my sightron and NightForce. My new Bushnell 6500 2.5-16 tactical is also, optically better, than the vortex at 16x.
