I just picked up my 3rd Vortex scope. I grabbed the discontinued Viper 4-12x40 at Cabelas sale price. Excellent glass. My other two Vortex's are the HST 4-16x44 and the Diamondback 4-12x40. I can't understand why Vortex would stop designing the MAG-view mag ring into their current line up. It JUST MAKES GOOD SENSE. It has a nice chunky built-in throw lever, and eye-facing magnification scale. Its the best system I've seen and its on a discontinued model? On my Diamondback I had to buy a throw lever from China for $8, but they dont make one for the 44mm HST. There is no way I'm spending $99 on a Vortex throw lever.
Come on Vortex, bring back the MAG-view please. Or make throw levers affordable and stop ripping people off by charging $99 for an $8 item.
