I've got 2 of the crossfire reddots and they are both fantastic. On different guns over the years and no issues.
I also have 2 aimpoint comp m4's and a comp m5 and still enjoy running the crossfires.... While I believe that the aimpoints are much more rugged / reliable. I have never had the vortex fail and the guys at FOC in Ajax even did a torture test on one.
The vortex sparc on the other hand is complete rubbish was sold off long ago to buy the second crossfire as the buttons were too hard to push compared to the dial especially in cold weather.
The high / low mount configurations for the crossfire is another plus.
Overall great reddot for the money and you won't be dissapointed.
As a counter-point, I've got a Holosun 503 - pretty basic - and several diff $50 amazon RDs, reflex and optic. The cheap ones have been holding up fine to SKS-recoil mounted on the barrel, rear-ramp and dust cover mount, as well as an MRA Renegade. I prefer saving $$ to 'Name Brands' - electronics either work or they don't.
I don't have much experience with decent red dots, but I'm very happy with my crossfire red dot. It's certainly miles ahead of the Crosspoint and NCStar ones i have.
I've owned a Vortex Crossfire, Strikefire and a Sparc. I no longer own any of them.. For a basic RDS, Primary Arm SLX MD-25, Sig Romeo 5 and then Holosun 503 in that order. If absolute co-witness is ok, then the Sig MSR is also worth a look.
Some of those are almost $400...big jump from the $199 crossfire 2...I've owned a Vortex Crossfire, Strikefire and a Sparc. I no longer own any of them.. Yeah I’ve got about the same on one of mine and it’s been fine.5K+ rounds on a standard Ruger 10/22 compact.
Admittedly light duty but Zero issues so far.
Can't speak to consistent tracking but no need to re-zero yet.
I paid $225 for my MD-25Some of those are almost $400...big jump from the $199 crossfire 2...
