I received a phone call from Vulcan about an hour ago....
After 30 years of dedicated service to the industry, Nick at Vulcan has decided to sell the business and retire.

The house, property, shop, tools.... Everything will be up for sale in the coming months.

He is still willing to take on small projects for the time being and guaranteed me that any projects currently in his shop will be completed before he retires

His wonderful wife Judy is in declining health and he plans on spending his time taking care of her

The stress of running a business, dealing with the Liberal gun policies and caring for his wife has taken a toll on his own health.
At 72 years of age he decided to pack it in. He hasn't had a day off since before covid and has never taken a vacation since he opened the shop (I heard him mention something about the Philippines....).
I wish him all the best in his future endeavors. and yes... BIG shoes to fill

I have high praise for Nick. He's worked on a bunch of my firearms, and currently has two of mine in his shop. Glad to read he'll finish them before retiring!

Would be nice to see pictures as testimony of his work.

I only heared good things about him and his work, but never had the opportunity to have a project done by him.

Had nick do an 870 for me parkerized then black oxide over top. Some other small projects, great guy to deal with. He had some nice stuff and kinda mini museum in his shop.

Remember seeing a large pile of m1 Garand stocks he was working on made from hackberry (interesting for a tree guy)
