Looking at purchasing either a burris Fullfield II or the Leopold VX1, but I've heard some bad comments on the leopold. Anyone else have any input on these two. Thanks.

What "Bad" comments have you heard about the VX1? I think for the money they are a very good value. The Fullfield II is a pretty good scope as well. Clear, bright and clean.

The Burris is made in the Phillipines, but I think its a good scope. The ballistic plex works well and the optics are bright and sharp. The only peculiar aspect of the Burris is that the ocular lense rotates as you change power settings. This means you can't easily use flip up lense covers, but for me that's not an issue.

Take a look through a Burris and see what you think of it. I'll be at Selkirk range on July 5th if you want to test mine out.

i have both vx1 and burris. both are good value but i think the burris is a little brighter, that said i like the leup warenty.

I have both a VXI and VXII. The VXI isn't quite as bright or sharp as the more expensive scope, but for the money I think it's a pretty good value. I wish the windage / elevation knobs clicked on the VXI rather than the friction set up they have though, but it's not a big deal for me. The Leupold warranty is way better than the Burris one. I have a couple of older Burris Fullfield scopes which are nice, but they were made in the USA. Like pharaoh2 mentioned the Fullfield IIs are made overseas.

Friction adjustments get a bad rap but in reality it is a superior system as the adjustment is not limited to 1/4moa, the adj is incrementally infinite. The VX1 is also around the same quality as the older VARI XII which has sold thousands into this country. You can never go wrong with a Leupold.
Editted to note that I have never owned a Burris, but shot a few guns wearing them, no expert on that brand by any stretch.

Leupold??

I have a VX1 and have really enjoyed it on my Husky 7X57.

Holds zero and has never fogged up, I hunt some wild swamps then clear fields throut the hunt I have never had a problem. Hey lets face it, lifetime warranty here, even if it did suck!

Oh ya, not that Im a sniper by any stretch but that set up is the only one that I have never missed with???;)
