Does anyone know how many of the 100,000 vz 52/57 came to our shores years ago?, as you don't see them around very often, Also whats the going rate for one of these?

The rifles come up time to time on the EE...it's the mags that are unobtainable. Rifle and mag 700.00 to 1000.00. Have you got one

See about a dozen a year for sale on EE 1000$ if its all matching #'s and has the cleaning kit. Love mine, But the Rasheed is the rarest of the X39 guns.

The vz52 in 7.62x45 is a little more affordable but the ammo is nearly impossible to find. I'm still restoring the one I found locally. Just the front site hood left. There is a company in the US that makes fairly good reproduction stocks. I'd prefer an original stock but until then....

I got one, it's a non matching, but is one of about 400 with the side rail, for the night vision scope they had back in the day, although I would also love to obtain a rasheed one day. Rasheeds are about 10x more rare production number wise though

Saw lots of 7.62x45 ammo for sale at the barhead gun show this fall. It was cheap enough but I don't remember how much. I still have lots so I didn't pay attention to the price. Having shot both vs52 and the vs52/57 I much prefer the 7.62x45 it seems more accurate. But either are great guns.

I had a safe queen until a couple of years ago when a supplier (won't list as he isn't a sponsor) accidentally received a shipment of mislabeled packages that contained 10 or so 52/57 magazines.
Ended up buying four of them (two of them were mis-pinned and could hold 6 rounds). Sent them back and had to wait a couple of months for the replacement (turns out the distributor in the Czech Republic) had 4-7 additional units on the shelf they didn't know about. Second set to arrive were pinned correctly.

She no longer is a safe queen and gets to see the air on a semi regular basis.
It shoots way nicer than any of my SKS's.

Very nice. Good score.Someday that may happen to me but I'd buy em all! Oink oink

How many? The LGR Search page shows 745 examples of Vz 52. Or at least that is the count where the search results switch to something else with those letters.

They were expensive and I figured there were other people who wanted/needed them to keep their guns shooting as well :)

Gotta spread the love around......

Nice guns but heavy, mine is Iraqi property marked of all things , i have a half dozen mags and a handfull of stripper clips for mine, haven't shot it in ages.

Think a fair number of the VZ ended up in Cuba, they bought a lot of Czech small arms in their day. some of them got passed on and ended up elsewhere, like Grenada.
