Hey guys. I was interested a couple years ago in a 5.56 vz but all the reviews scared me off. Have any changes been made to work out all the bugs in the past while?

hey man, I just picked up a vz in 556 a couple weeks ago. I finally had a chance to take it out Sunday and Monday just past.
I put exactly 500 rounds through it of Barnaul 62 grain from SFRC. I installed the AR mag well adapter on it, and I think the only issues I had were from the 4 new magazines I purchased recently from a site sponsor (I could only fit 4 rounds instead of 5, and the mag's weren't feeding very well. I ran each mag 2 times and found the same thing---but my Beowulf's and two older gi mags were flawless).
I originally purchased a vortex strike eagle//vortex mount to throw on this, but silly me never realized the scope length vs the ejection of casings would interfere(dumb dumb). So I stuck a cheap-o Tasco 5 moa red dot on it I picked up from Canadian Tire (as I was getting targets etc). Honestly, that damn thing held zero and I was able to hit that 200 m gong with relative ease, both rested on sand bag (became very easy) and free standing (harder but for a novice shooter I was happy with the hit %). It earned the 50 bucks I spent on it.
So far so good is all I can say. Time will tell. And I myself was worried about the 556 from reading all the scary reviews...but I said F it and give it a try. I'm happy so far man

Mine runs fine with factory mags. 300 rounds in. No issues. Mag adapter and some type of optic and mount eventually. The irons aren't the greatest. 20" gong at 330 yards with good conditions.

Mine went in for the warranty work and now works fine. I think most of the ones out there have been fixed and are good to go.

They are very accurate for that type of gun. They are also very tight too so if a mag is pinned right at 5 instead of 5.5, good luck seating it on a closed bolt without denting the top cartridge.
