I'm sure this has been discussed before but I've looked and can't find anything about it.

In order to use 10 round mags in a Vz 58 would I need to buy the csa .223 ar mag weld and then use 10 round xcr pistol mags?

Is there any other way than this?

If so how is the reliability and durability?
 
There is another mag well adaptor made by B&T but you loose the bolt hold open feature. The CSA 223 adaptor works fine with 7.62 XCR mags. Mine went in with no machining. Seems like the newer csa VZ58's have the machining done already.

Very cool, the std 5 rnders just run out way to fast. I wanna look into that cost wise. Since csa or maybe I'm thinkin vz sells versions they call pistols that they really should offer 10/30 mags marked properly and they could charge a good primium all for changing the place of the rivet. Probably won't ever happen though

I keep hearing this but I'm still unsure of mine. It's a 2014 model... you think either adapter (preferably the B&T) will fit in this receiver?

Look around for TV Presspass's huge post on his attempt at bringing in a CZ 858 pistol. It didn't work out and he got screwed around by the RCMP.
 
Butchering a perfectly fine rifle to be able to have 5 rounds more isnt worth it in my opinion.
 
But I kinda like that upgrade if you run 223. To me theirs just something really special and satisfying about rocking a mag in and hearing it click besides tossin an ar style mag in a well and given it a wack. I'll probably try this 10rnd mag setup but I'll feel like a beech not rockn mags in like a man

What's getting butchered? Im guessing that you didn't read that mine went in without having to modify a thing. If you do require the machining it is such a small amount you would never know. I can return back to using original mags anytime I want within about 5 minutes. Considering CSA seems to be doing this to the newer versions I would hardly say it is butchering. I found it hard enough to get any info on this before purchasing the adaptor. Actually I had no idea what was required to make it work. I just bought with the thought I would figure it out. I was very surprised when it fit right in and ran flawlessly. When I get a chance I will post some pics to identify the area of concern when fitting the adaptor.
This is very much so worth it to get an additional 5 rounds. If you fully don't understand an issue please don't comment on it. Your comments are only misleading others who are interested in doing this.

Sweet, thanks for the info! Good to hear that the CSA adapter will work, even if I don't particularly like the look of it. But in the end I guess all that matters is the ability to fire off 10 rounds in a reliable manner.

Butchering is the rule.

No modifications is the exception.

If your model does no requires any mod, well congrats but its not the case for most of people (older CSA / CZ)

OK guys....Here it is. I hope this helps explain what needs to be done in order for the magwell adaptor to work. Even though CSA says the adaptor works with .223 only...it also works perfect with 7.62. The other great feature is that the last round hold open still works. The only thing that will not work is if you have an aftermarket bolt quick release.
