How many of you out there have had problems with your vz 58 or 858-2s ?
and if so have you solved them?

Never shot mine yet, But tried to contact the manufacture they haven't gotten back to me yet? even though parts are available we shouldn't have to buy them. The manufacturer should come good. Its bull#### spending that kind of money on a rifle that may or may not work.

UPDATE! Ive finally had her out on several occasions, 600 rds later and still Aok.

Mine was broken, I fixed the trigger group a couple days ago. It crapped out again today. This time it's going to a gunsmith. I'm not even gonna bother with trying to go through CZ for them to warranty it. I want my gun working ASAP.

I still love this gun. Call me dumb, but I do. :D

I heard nothing but good about this one before I bought my own and it is living up to the reputation IMHO.

My only complaint is against the magazine capzcity limits

Mine used to chamber a round but fail to #### the striker. I got a parts kit and did an overhaul. Works fine now.

I got one of the 1st ones in and it would not eject it stovepiped allmost every shot

marstar sent a replacement and that one has ben fine no problems im actually trying to break it got about 400 rnds thru it without cleaning o

You using non-corrosive ammo?

Nope im trying to see how badly it will rust so far its been 3 weeks NO rust as in NONE

face it its a $500.00 rifle if it gets wrecked ill buy another

Mine would jam on every odd-numbered round (1,3,5). There was a sharp corner on the bottom of the bolt lock-up area on the left, that would cut into the catridge casing and actually snag it as it was stripped from the mag. I rounded-off and then polished the sharp corner and things improved quite a bit, but I've still got to take off just a tiny amount of additional metal for it to be 100%.

Call Marstar and use their warranty. Unless you bought an 858 - then you;re F__cked ;)

Mine is an 858. I sent it back to milarm for warranty repair. It's been there a while. In the mean time, I bought myself another cz858 from P&D and it has been working flawlessly with about 1000 rounds through it

I've never had a single problem with my rifle. It's been a dream since day one.

Contact148, I don't think that rifle is going to rust. You're going to have to do something really foolish to wreck a VZ58S. I used corrosive ammo (about 300 rds) one hot balmy afternoon last summer, and let the rifle sit well into the evening (right when the dew started). No signs of rust anywhere. Then I sprayed some window cleaner into the gas tube and let it sit another 3 hours. Eventually I got around to cleaning it, and it still had no rust on it anywhere. Just to compare, the casings I just shot earlier were already starting to orange up by then. The VZ58S is a beast. If I ever have to refinish a rifle again, it's definitely getting a coat of paint.

Heck, with non-corrosive ammo, I wouldn't be surprised if you could fire over 2000 rds without cleaning it.

Mine was deliverred with the front post all the way to the left, it was still shooting to the left. The factory red paint was on the front sight post. It shot a good 2 inches to the left at 100 yds. I sent it back to Lever for repairs, they were quick on the repair, but now the front post needs to be all the way to the right. I haven't done much shooting for a while, I just hope the windage is correct, even if the sight picture looks weird.

My 858 works perfect, and I've put a LOT of Czech surplus through it. Not a single misfire or malfunction.

Pull the trigger and it will fire. Clean it, and it won't rust. It's that easy!
