VZ-58 + 858 Problems

if you look at the right side, by the saftey switch it will even still have the '30' stamped for the full auto position. under the paint you can detect the slight filling of the sear holes. ever notice that the left side of the reciever is machined deeper than the right? these guns were made from parts bins. never before assembled. the silly canadian laws were not broken because these guns were never machine guns. just machined chunks of steel.

very little filling actually the vz58's have a block of steel welded into the recievers and the auto trip sear slot welded up ( auto trip sear is a safty thing so no nasty out of battery fireing)

nothing else was/is moded in the reciever

the vz58's bolt and carrie have the trip sear ;shoulder" milled off

the 858's have a block of still pinned to the side of the recievers and the auto sear slot welded up

the bolt carriers are NOT milled down

the original select fire vz58's have 2 sears on for semi one for FA

here is a pic of the original vz58 internals (THIS PIC WAS I DO BELIEVE FROM KEVINB)

I have never had an issue yet and I am still suprized by how accurate it is.
It eats American Eagle, Classic Hi-shok and milsurp with zero issues.

It does chew up the soft brass however. :/

that why you should NEVER use brass cases in this type of arm its like the ak47 use steel cases or sooner or later your gonna rip the base off the brass and have a real good jam!

Shot my CZ-858 for the first time today. I was pleased with the overall performance, but out of 105 rounds of Czech, I had a ~4% failure rate. 3 rounds had light primer strikes and there were 1 or 2 stovepipes. The light primer strikes happened when after firing one round, the firing pin failed to reset into firing position. Nothing happened but a little tap when I pulled the trigger, and the pull itself didn't feel right either. I thought it may have resulted from bad feeding though it sounds similar to the spring or parts-kit requiring problems discussed on this thread.

There might be some from the US floating around, but if you take a look at the exchange board there's a few 7.62x39 dies + brass for sale, from failed experiments of making 7.62x39 non-corrosive.

Cobra, one of 858s is doing the exact same thing. Its in for warranty repair. I replaced the fire control group, and it went another 100 rounds, and crapped out. I bought another 858 and have not have had one ftf fte etc. I'm still waiting for my other one to be repaired.

Prolem solved :) :) I replaced the bolt carrier, striker, trigger assy., sear and sear spring. and My VZ 858 works perfect now! thanks ljungman for the advice. If any one has this problem dont panic aparts swap will solve it.
P.S. DONT NOT SWAP BOLTS OR LOCKING BLOCKS unless you have a headspace gauge plus you do not need to swap the bolt and locking block anyway just the bolt carrier.
