Just wanted to pass along a tip/trick I discovered back when I bought my first CZ-858 and have used with no problems for several years. As many people have found and commented, the magazine release on the VZ/CZ is not especially ergonomic, especially with gloves on.
At the time I bought my first 858, there were no ready-made magazine release extensions available. However, I discovered that a $12 hammer spur extension (I think mine was from Butler Creek) worked like a charm. The only issue encountered was that hammer spur extensions were available in several different width grooves. So, I simply measured the width of the mag release and then took a small pocket ruler with me when I visited my local gun store. Sure enough, there was a hammer spur extension with a groove the same width as the magazine release.
I no longer have the details of the Butler Creek part number, but you can use the same method I did to find the correct extension.
At first I was concerned that the extension might snag on clothing, but that's never been an issue.
A cheap, simple, and effective mod.
