I have an NR vz 58 with the 18" barrel. I want to know if I can get a smith to cut it down to around 10.5" and recrown it. Obviously register it at that point. But I'm wondering if it would still Cycle with the original gas block, or would it need to be replaced/modified? I'm only want to do this because I spent 1000$ on this thing and I wish I just got the restricted version in the first place. I know a smith that could do it cheap and I need to know if it would be legal to do and then register. Thanks!

I thought about it. But those still don't have the barrel length I'm looking for. I would rather stick with my original idea, so I can pick a length. I'm just wondering if I would have cycling issues? If it's too much hassle I'm just going to leave it the way it is.
