I like this rifle...ALOT. There are too many VZ/CZ 58/858 rifles for me to keep track of!!!

Anyways I am wondering what your thoughts are on this...who owns one, how to they shoot on so on. Now I have heard the barrel is NOT crome lined and that kinda bugs me...should it? Whay advanatages if any does that give it? Will cleaning be harder?

Thanks, UTAF

The coming availability of the AR magazine adapter makes these rifles very interesting to me.

Chromed bores are nice to have, but not absolutely essential. The main advantages are resistance to corrosion and erosion. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

A chrome bore will add some longevity to the barrel and will make cleaning a little easier. .223 is not corrosive, so for the most part will be a non issue.

The few range reports that have come in so far aren't that promising.

LOL

I know...! I was hoping for a definitive report that accurately states the abilities of this rifle. It is definitely an attractive platform what with all the bells and whistles that can be slapped on.

Although there is not much to go with a description of 'minute of pumpkin/soup can/barn door'. I saw one CGN'r all but spout his undying love for the rifle months ago, and then happened to see it for sale on the EE just the other week. Not sure the reason for their wish to sell it, but it doesn't bode well.

2 MOA would seal the deal for me, however I'm quite sure if I sh!t in my left hand and wish in the right; my right hand will remain empty.

Ah...!

I seem to have missed your post Sako, and thanks for the link.

100m distance...? If so (and they finally get the mag well adapter), I think I'm sold then...!

Cheers!
